Beautiful Bannon Creek, Northern Tasmania.

    Beautiful Bannon Creek, Northern Tasmania.

Very peaceful spot Di. Love the reflections and scenery.
Hi there, di on the wallaby,Nice picture, but I must correct you, I firmly believe this is a photo of the centre span of Clarkes Bridge at the northern end of Gunns Plains, North West Tasmania. It is also known by the "New Locals" as Bannon's Bridge and I think someone has put up a sign to that effect and it allows access to Bannon's Bridge Rd. To my knowledge it was named this after the land was sold and divided up into smaller parcels which I think was some 30 odd years ago. If you turn left over the bridge you can follow the track and eventually join the Penguin to Cradle Mtn walking track. The bridge actually spans the Leven River which flows through to Ulverstone. To my knowledge there is not a Bannon Creek in Tassie.

Hi Cascade, I do believe you're right. I checked my trip book notes and I had written in there Leven River. So I will edit the pic. Thanks, di
Hi there Di,I've been going to update you each time I see this photo in the gallery selections. For the record this bridge no longer exists as it was in your pic. There is now a temporary Bailey bridge until it can be rebuilt after it was washed away by the floods we had a while back.
