smile.gif Hello - after visiting this forum many times I have decided to bite the bullet and join.
My family and I (hubby and 3 kids) are hoping to move to Tasmania very soon. We are currently living in Nth Qld and have put our house up for sale.....now we just have to wait till it sells.
We have visited Tassie a few times over the last couple of years and feel it would be a great place to bring up our children.
Anyway I look forward to getting to know you all, hearing all the great Tassie stories and being able to ask questions biggrin.gif
Cheers
Shell

Best of luck, but curiosity is getting the better of me, what is this other site you speak of?

Thanks Shellz, no problem with linking to a site like that, we only get fussy with commercial sites trying to promote themselves. Was just curious with all the references to this "other" site.

a parenting forum, now that would be very useful to the young players, that should be posted in newspapers, bub's does not come with an instruction manual and a lot of youngsters now do not have the family ties that we of the "older" generation took for granted, an arena of support would be terrific to deal with pre and post natal stress, depression and just the blues and the support info that would flow would be worth it's weight in gold, fantastic!!!

That's for sure Dave! I haven't got kids yet (soon hopefully :) ) but am doing bits of research on the forum Shells and I have been talking about.

Having most of my family back in NZ will mean I definitely need to get support and ask questions when the time comes :) so a forum is handy
Plus it's nice the forum means you can chat to people in your area and maybe meet up great for people like me who will be new to an area.

thats for sure steph and Hamish, a forum is a fantastic place to gain knowledge and find new friends with like minded interests, now with the folks and friends back in new Zealand have you thought about one of those voice thingys for your computer like "Skype" you get to talk and look at them at the same time, fantastic if you are apart and missing them just a little!, I'm no guru when it comes to these things but a quick search of the web would find a few of them, but I'm sure there are plenty of folks on here or yet to come with plenty of knowledge in the bubby raising area that would be only too glad to meet and have a cuppa and a chinwag
