Hi guys , its been a while since ive visited the forum, love the upgraded site. Just wondering if anyone might have any tips on getting catering employment in the mines in tasmania? any information at all would be greatly appreciated.I am still hoping to move to tas in the spring with my family and cannot wait. thanks . tom

I suppose the only thing I could suggest is getting in contact with the companies over here and see what sort of work they have going in that area.

I think you may have to do as Shane suggested and contact the various mining companies. It is not an area I see advertised often in these parts, though MMG at Rosebery was recently looking for a canteen manager.

Best of luck, though I think in most of the mines catering is handled by contractors and you may be better looking at that kind of work throughout the hospitality and corporate hospitality sectors.

Hi Tom

As mentioned a large percentage of the catering in mines here in Tassy is conducted by contracted firms. One of the firms I've dealt with whilst working on-site is ESS. They do things from catering, cleaning & admin.

if you search for ESS in google it should bring links up in relation to mining work. There all over Australia, mines, defence force bases etc...
