Just as we settle down from the last upgrade Invision have now released the latest major version upgrade to the forum software. It will take me about a week or so on my Linux computer to figure out all the changes that will be required to make the skin work with the new version, so this is an early warning that changes are once again in the pipeline.

With the new release you will discover a revamped search function, the ability to comment on status updates directly, and have a history of your status updates in your profile page, the ability to customise your profile page, including being able to set your own background image, the capacity to share content easily on your facebook or twitter pages, without leaving our website to do so, and a few other little goodies as well.

I should manage to get all the issues worked out before I make the changes here, so the site will only be down for an hour or so and I will try to do this late at night to avoid too much inconvenience.

Luckily, this upgrade is included in our current license, so no new expense involved, just a moderate amount of frustration, hair pulling, screaming, and a few threats to smash my spare monitor and keyboard as I sort through the various issues.

Will be making a few changes to setting over the next couple of days to enable extra functionality.

Right now I am totally confused by all the features that have been added, and will need to do a bit of RTFM before I update stuff.

My head is trying to wrap itself around a few problems with another site I am currently developing, so I am being a bit slack and putting the learning curve for this new upgrade on hold for a day or two. Thus proving that I am indeed human, subject to confusion and befuddlement
