Panasonic make decent cameras, I have owned a FZ 20 and FZ 18. I haven't read about the G2 so can't comment on it. The only thing that would worry me about buying from there would be repairs, where do you get them done...do you have to send the camera back to HK for repairs. Another thing would be warranty? Do you get an Australian warranty, sometimes you can't when buying from overseas.

Seems like a reasonable camera, though the Micro Four Thirds system I have heard can be a bit of a compromise and lens range is limited, with the need to use adapters to get a wider range of lens choices. Not sure what you are paying for it, but I doubt it would be that much less than the cost of a Pentax Kx with twin lens kit.
Like Shane I have used a Panasonic FZ-18 & FZ-20, but both of those cameras came with Leica lenses.
Did some research on eGlobal and most people seem happy with the deals, delivery speed, etc. BUT, if something goes wrong then you will be required to cover return costs to HK and a couple of stories do not show them being very helpful in speed with that side of things.

Thanks for that. Buying from Hong Kong I get it at half price. In Australian stores it is over $1200 so for me it is worth it. If it needs repairing I guess I'll just have to pay the freight. It does come with a warranty and I can buy a five year warranty if I want. As for lenses I haven't a clue what to do with them. I am just a beginner so I will be taking all your advice pretty seriously I reckon. Do you have a spot where I can post my photos for critique? I entered the Spirit of Tasmania competition last year and received an email saying that one of my photos was in the running to win. So that encouraged me, but maybe everyone got those emails LOL. Of course I didn't win.

Hope the deal goes well for you, and the camera suits your needs.
You can post a photo in any relevant section and request comments and criticisms if you want something critiqued, but, remember that whatever anyone says is simply their own opinion.
Would love to see some of your images
