G'day,

I'm planning to move my family of 5 from Perth to Hobart in January 2012 (as long as our house sells, maybe later in 2012/13 if it takes longer)
Just trying to plan financially as to what the move will cost us.

Can anyone give me a ballpark figure of removalist costs from Perth to Hobart of the contents of a medium to large size 4 bedroom home?

Thanks,

Baggas

Hi Baggas and welcome to Real Tasmania.

Best of luck with your move and selling the house. Info quoted below is a few years old now, but, if you are prepared to do a little work yourself, could save you a small fortune and would be worth checking out anyway for an updated quote.

(Teabag @ Nov 27 2008, 08:58 AM) ../../public/style_images/midnightnew/snapback.pngwe used "U Move Australia" don't know if they are Aus wide, but from Perth to Hobart costs us $3500 - they drop a container to your door, give you a week to pack it, upload it, then drop it at your door at the other end and give you a week to unpack it. We even put our little car inside saved us heaps of $$$

If you do check with this company can you please let us know an updated quote for a container from Perth to Hobart. Thanks

Thanks - I did see that when I browsed these forums.
We are more after a full removal service but U Move might be a good back-up plan if the removalists are far too expensive. I've got no idea but was hoping to do it for around $10K or less.

Don't want to go getting proper quotes just yet as we don't have a firm moving date until we sell the house, but am looking to get a rough idea so I can start saving some $$.

Thanks again.

Hi baggas and welcome to Real Tas. I suppose the only thing I can suggest is getting quotes from different companies and see which one is the best value for money.
