This farm was donated to Parks and Wildlife in 2001. It's now a 377 Ha nature reserve. Several old dwellings remain as does some farm equipment. Legend has it the last owner (Ernie) walked some 20 Km and back into Sorell for supplies and had his bullocks so well trained they didn't need a driver and he would just tell them what to do.

Woodvine was settled in 1861, the original house is built from timber slab and shingles. The house was built by D & E Long who had 14 children of whom 13 survived until adulthood.

1902 house had two chimneys painted in pipe clay originally and a brick outdoor oven.

Farm equipment.

The reserve has suffered several thefts recently and it's hoped that cameras will be installed rather than the property gated-off.
This is a great little bit of history, it's almost like the owners just handed it over intact, the 1902 dunny is still there, and may even have paper (we didn't check)
