Not a great shot... but thought some may find it of interest. I had to go to town and stay over for one night, and when I came home I found this guy had eaten the baby sunbirds, and was perhaps waiting to catch the mother returning to the nest. :(

Caught it and sent it packing to the neighbours yard.

Thanks Mystic. :)

If I'd been home, I would have removed it before it got the babies... the sunbird mothers make quite a racket whenever a snake comes near.

Thanks Shane. :)

The adult sunbirds were back checking out the nest again today... perhaps they are planning to try again.

Thanks - glad you enjoyed them. Sunbirds are hard to capture, as they move about all the time... so getting those above was mostly a fluke. :)

if there is one thing I have learnt in all my vast years (well a few attempts over a couple of days if you wish me to be honest) is that there are no flukes.....good timing and excellent planning probably but no "flukes".....well done!
