Plenty of firewood around for your cooking needs. Not a lot of excitement abounding in this location, but the river is beautiful, providing some good exploration. Wild waratahs grow out of the bank in places, if you are lucky enough to be there during the short flowering season.
I found this a nice little spot to enjoy a break, and soak up the sounds of nothing but birds and running water. A long way from anything, the night skies are good, if you manage a cloudless night. If you have taken a slow wander up the explorer, and have not decided whether to turn right or left at the end, this makes a great spot to stop and ponder your options. Left to the Arthur River, or right to Julius Creek & Milkshake hills???? decisions, decisions...
The river presents a number of opportunities for some nice shots, and even though it was mostly overcast and raining lightly last time we were there, it was still a very nice spot to stop. Although it is right beside the road, this is not exactly a road with a great deal of traffic on it, and you will not be likely to see very many vehicles pass you by. At night, the chances of a passing car are virtually zero.
A couple of shots of the river
There are no facilities here, and you would be advised to bring your own water with you. The ground is good, but bedrock seems to be just below the surface, making it tricky to get tent pegs into the ground. Even so, as a place to simply get away for a night, I give this spot
Our campsite @ Lindsay
(note the rocks used in place of pegs, and our friend Jack by the tent door
