Jute, our best friend during our trip. The string of strength and a million ++ uses can be bought in large balls at Chickenfeed stores in most large centres, for only $2 a ball. During our 3 months, we went through about 6 balls of this amazing campers friend.

It comes in very handy for just about every imaginable purpose, from washing lines, to stringing up a tarp for cover and windbreaks. At one stage it even substituted as our tent pegs when the ground proved too rocky to be able to drive the pegs in. We simply tied the tent to large rocks with jute, and had no problems at all keeping it upright and stable.

Jute...your friend...buy much!!!!!!

I had never heard of chicken feed until I saw the shop in Launceston. Love the place, we bought a tent for about $16 and camped in it at all over Tas.. still have it three years later!

we have shops over here called "cheap as chips" and "go-lo" I guess they would be the same as "chicken feed" a lot of the stuff that is found in there is of a far less quality but hell so's the price, I have half a dozen rope bundles, each of 20 mtrs in length, they would equal clothesline in thickness I suppose, these I find invaluable, as Anna has said a thousand uses, the trailer ratchet tie downs are a god send as well, the ground tarps are now getting as dear as our camping shop but used to be very good value, I dont know about the batteries but they are very cheap
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those that mind, dont matter and those that matter, dont mind!!!

if you come across someone without a smile,.................. give them one of your's....... and watch it grow!

never be mean with a kind word, ........................you may need one yourself one day!

just as I get used to today along comes tomorrow!

We would have been happy for it just to last our trip in Tas but it just keeps going. Used it a lot up here in Qld too.
