Whites Skink is a beautiful little lizard with rows of white dots along it. They grow to about 80-85 mm in length.

They live in burrows usually dug underneath logs and rocks and sometimes in sandy soil. They are prminantly found in Northern and Eastern Tasmannia.

They are very slow growing taking about three years to grow 50mm, in captivity. They can live to be at least 8 and a half years old.

One to five babies are born in February and they can range from 35mm to 40 mm at birth. They eat small invetabrates from spiders to milliepedes.

These guys are very shy so we only got a couple of shots of him. he was at Doras Point, near St Helens on the North east Coast.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those that mind, dont matter and those that matter, dont mind!!!

if you come across someone without a smile,.................. give them one of your's....... and watch it grow!

never be mean with a kind word, ........................you may need one yourself one day!

just as I get used to today along comes tomorrow!

Hi guys! Just wondering if this little fella is a Whites skink? Found in southern Tas in the hills behind Collinsvale. Awesome reason to fire up the reptile tank!

Cheers guys! Here is another shot. What other species of skink have similar markings? I have a place here that has an abundance of skinks and lizards not so commonly seen. I used to keep snakes and other reptiles in QLD. After finding this little guy and many others, i think i may have to gather a few different tasmanian skink speciesmums 076.JPG

Got a response on this and YES it is a white's skink, but you should put some dirt in for it as they like to dig
