A couple of weeks back we discovered a little walk which wanders through some nice vegetation and you can hear and see lots of birds, although they are too quick to get shots of. It is a very relaxing walk with lots of greenery and the sound of the Stitt River is always is the background.
We slowly wandered, eventually stopping for a little bit on the wooden bridge which crosses the Stitt. I really liked the reflections in the water so grabbed a few shots. There is a rumour that there is a platypus in this area, so every time we come this way we stop and look around to see if we can see him, no luck yet.
We moved on past Rosebery Park and down to Stitt Falls. There wasn't a lot of water going over them so didn't get many shots. Headed home and saw some really nice light on Mt Murchison but it was too misty for any decent shots.

We spent last Friday rebuilding Jessica and finished her off. Its great having wheels again. Yesterday we took her for her first decent leg stretcher and she ran like a dream.
On the way home we stopped in at the Dundas River. it is a beautiful little spot. The river was flowing a bit because of the rain we have been having over the last couple of days. I tried to get a little waterfall but the images I took just didnt work out, so I got one of the water flowing over some rocks.

And what a week it was!!!!
We travelled to many places. I think we were out of town more than we were in it. I really like having our Jessica back with us.
I have also been happy this week cause most of my shots are coming together. I have taken quite a few this week and none have been out of focus or stuff like that. It really makes it hard for me to choose a picture this week.
I chose this photo for my picture of the week because I liked the different colours and textures in the photo. It is of Heemskirk falls which is a on beautiful river just north of Zeehan on the west coast.

We didn't go far from home this week. We were invited on a picnic by a coule of friends at a lake between Rosebery and Zeehan. There was a couple of kiolmetres of dirt roads to drive down. Ususally I don't drive dirt roads but I thought this time I would give it a go. I was donig pretty well till we came to a huge puddle right across the road.
I watched the other vehicle go through it and then sat there for a minute, then decided I couldn't go through it. We changed drivers and Anna drove the rest of the way down to the lake.It was a beautiful little spot and the only thing that was not good about it was the dog the other people bought along. he is a good dog but very noisy.
I wondered around the edge of the lake to see what sort of opportuniyies there were for getting some shots. I liked this one the best.
This place is definitely worth going to. The locals don't like telling people about it and I don't blame them. It is quiet and out of the way and very beautiful.

This week one of the places we went was Granville Harbour. It was a warmish sort of day with a lot of heat haze and sea mist near the coast.
Granville is North of Zeehan and you drive through some very beautiful country to get there. It is a small settlement on the coast looking out over the Southern Ocean.
Nett had told us about a spot just outside Granville which she thought would be nice for us to have a look at. We arrived at what we thought was the area she had mentioned but werent sure if we were at the right spot so we got back into the car and sought local advice. She had told us the night before that if we were going that way her Mum and Dad said to drop in for a cuppa, so we did.
We spent a couple of hours talking to them about the area, which was cool; we got quite a bit of info about places which may interest us.
This image was taken on the way in to Granville. I like the colour of the rocks. Hopefully next time we go out there there isn't too much mist and haze. I think it is worth dropping in to have a look.

When we got up this morning it was fine with a few clouds in the sky. 30 minutes later was a different story. It was really dark and rain was pelting down. I looked out the back and the skies out to the west were clear. We decided that today was the day we should go and get some shots. The rest of the week has been busyish.
We slipped through Zeehan and headed for the Spray Tunnel. Had to check it out. The road up there was potholed with some really big holes. Finally after a few minutes bumpy driving we reached the famous tunnel. We got out and Anna got some really cool shots of the tunnel from the outside.
Then we drove through. It is a really thin tunnel, Jessica barely fit inside it. While driving through I decided to take a couple of shots, one with the flash, (which didn't work), and the one below. We have other shots and will put them elsewhere in the forum.
Getting to the Spray Tunnel is easy. Head towards the north of Zeehan and turn left to the Golf Course. Follow the road past the course and you will go onto a dirt road which is One Way only. Be careful there are a lot of deep pot holes in this road.

This week I was excited because we were going to meet Sim(Tassiesim) in person for the first time. We had a plan to take her to quite a few localities. She arrived on Thursday afternoon and we went for a drive to a few local spots. One of the places we took her was the Rosebery Scenic Drive, about halfway between Zeehan and Rosebery.
It is a magical spot, well worth seeking out if you are on the west coast. I reckon it is a nicer drive than the highway.
One of the spots we stopped had these cute little mushrooms. I just had to get a shot of them.
Will write a post about the weekend and put it somewhere else in the forum. For now Enjoy the mushies.

This week we didn't go anywhere. It was wet and cold for the most part, so we stayed at home. One day, thursday, it was really cold and the BOM had predicted snow down to about 800m. It certainly felt cold enough for snow.
It was overcast most of the day and the mountain didn't want to show its face. Then for a brief time she did. She was covered in a layer of snow and it was geat to look at.

This week we had an appointment in Burnie. We left a little early just to make sure that we could find the place. With lots of time to kill before the appointment we wandered around Burnie. I didn't think much of this place.
I saw a cargo shipin the dock being unloaded. We looked for a place to get a shot of it and found a carpark. We wnet to the top floor and thats where I got this weeks shot. I think this is probably the most exciting thing to happen in the town. I also got a shot from behind glass in the stairwell of the carpark, but I think this one is better.
Put it this way, I don't think I will be going there again unless I have an appointment.
