this is one fo the most common frogs you are likely to find around Tasmania. They can also be found in the south eastern corner of the mainlaind.
They can be found in virtually all habitat types, and are even common in gardens in populated areas, such as the ones in the shots below that were taken in our garden, near Hobart.

Droool I used to have these froggies in my backyard as a little girl , fantastic creatures with the most beautiful night calls one day i would like some in my garden to watch again, droool love both shots

They are really cute little animals.
Southern Brown Tree Frogs grow to between 25 and 45mm in length. They are brown in colour and have darker brown makings. Their bellies are usually a cream colour.
They are sexually active all year round and males will call from vegetation near ponds for a mate, especially after it has rained. The egss are layed in clumps of between 500 and 700 attached to submerged vegetation. They are also agile climbers and can jump to catch a fly in mid flight.

They are cool we had five of them at one time but then we released them
