A mate of mine rocked up the other day to show-off his 'new' car.

He didn't volunteer the price and i didn't ask. I know the HO's go for around 700k's, i'm guessing this GT would be around 1/3 million.

That is a NICE car.

Classic muscle from the 60's is the best kind of car out there for looks and power.

Yeah Anna , how mad are those plates!. When he opened the drivers door for me i thought it was an invitation for me to go for a hoon in it... he was actually opening the door so i wouldn't leave grubby fingerprints on the chrome..lol.. sad man!!

I didn't mean to suggest it was a 'Men Only' deal Margie. I know some Ladies are big fans of cars from the muscle era..... Inari for one wink.gif

Inari, what models in particular tickled your fancy?

Very. LOL Many years ago a friend of mine spent many $$$ and three years working to restore an old chevvy back to original showroom condition. Not sure exactly what model, but a massive thing with wings on the back. Beautiful car when he finished.

3 weeks after completing the project he was driving into a parking lot when somebody backed out fast, without looking and hit the car dead centre, bending the chassis. It was written off sad.gif

Personally I would never invest the kind of cash it would take for a car as above, or the time for what it took for my friend, because no matter how careful you may be, there are too many idiots out there.

I do find it amusing though that you post this "for the lads" and three girls respond LMAO.gif

Margie is my partner, and I can assure you she is a girl. Inari we have known via the net for around 3 years now, and I would go out on a limb and say that I am 100% confident she is a girl.

Muscle cars....

Like the classic Mustang with the BOSS carburetor?
Or the Dodge Charger R/T?
Or or the Mustang Cobra?
Or the Plymouth Roadrunner?
or The Pontiac GTO?
or the '67 or '69 Camaro
Or the generation 2 Trans AM....
Or the Corvette Stingray...
Or the Hemi-cuda.

I have a drool for a lot of classics (though I had to look the car in the picture up...hadn't see it before. Ford Falcon right?), and the Charger R/T is probably my favourite to look at, after the sexy Stingray of course.

Cool Falcon you buddy has there Rehab!! And ya I knew exactly what it was.

Good to see some car buffs!! I was wondering about this....

Half the object of my existence is to support my car, probably why I don't have a dog...and women leave after they realize the pecking order, lol.
I dragged this out of a mud field 6 years ago and poured all my $$ into it. I drive it when ever I can afford a tank of gas, and its not raining out. Preferably I drive it to a race track and give it a further flogging.

When I look around the world and think about where I'd like to live next, sites get narrowed down by the "Nearby Drag Strip" requirement. If I remember correctly there's one south of Launceston wink.gif

Not too sure how easy it would be to get this heap into Tas though, its pretty heavily modified. Much of the front end is fiberglass, none of the driveline is original. Power is a very modified 427 (7.0L) engine, a 4 speed overdrive transmission native to larger trucks, and a Ford 9" rear end.
Its a 1973 Camaro, I couldn't find any good exemptions or 'blind eye' allowances in the Australian auto importing rules for older than 30 cars. Not sure I could bring myself to sell it, much rather bring it with.

Hi Tom,
Yep you are right there is a good dragway just out of Launceston been a few times over the years to watch tyres smoke up, must admit dont bother anymore ,
We have Targa Tasmania going on at the moment now thats interesting cars

As for getting a car over here Easy peasy , my uncle used to get American mustangs all the time before he moved to the mainland , ship them to Melbourne then bring them on the boat

I'm no longer a rev head but thats a very good smoking shot you have there .
