Well, as a result of the days events, I now provide IT Support for the Premier through indirect means.

Anyway, good riddance to Big Red, couldn't have happened to a nicer person. angry.gif

Hopefully we may just see something good come out of the last 2 years of corruption....

oh and one last thing.

Congratulations I guess, though it would be a dubious position to be in.

Not surprising that Lennon did his back flip on the independent corruption agency yesterday, maybe, if we are real lucky their first investigation could be into the way he handle the pulp mill issue.

Can't say that he will be missed, though one man does not a party make, unless one considers the various similarities between his style of govt and that of Joh Bjelke Peterson in Qld during the 70's. In many ways the actions taken by Lennon reminded me of the kinds of things Joh used to pull back then.

It will be very interesting to see how things progress for the remainder of the term of the current govt.

I am also pleased.

Probably makes things hard for Will @ the next election though - he was a shoe-in with Paul as an opponent!

No Gossip unfortunately...to far down the chain for that.

My personal speculation is that Big red jumped before he was pushed. Regardless of what happened there was going to be a new premier this week.

My personal experience with David is that he is a very competant leader and that he has a clear vision of where the future should be. If you have heard the news today he is already putting a priority on an ethics commission and fibre optic cable. He has my attention with the fibre considering I have some involvement with the Digital Tasmania Group smile.gif

Dave shows *a lot* of promise. he's got two years to show us what he's got.

The ethics commission could be a good move, provided they are able to structure it to be completely independent from govt. I have had experience with the NSW ICAC and when the govt does not like the verdict they can be ordered to remain silent. The ICAC is a toothless tiger under such control.

The big disappointment for me in this change has been the person announced as the deputy premier. Seriously Lara Giddings? Her real name, I am certain is Lara Iskidding! This muddle headed wombat (with due apologies to wombats) firmly believed that the way to build our health system was through the removal of rural services and the development of capital city hospitals that could not be afforded without wholesale asset stripping. Our new deputy had been health minister despite the fact that I, and I think many others, are certain she would have trouble spelling the word hospital.

The next couple of years could be interesting.
