You may notice that you have suddenly inherited the highly sought after and exclusive currency called TazBucks. These are the currency of the arcade for now, but will be used for more diverse purposes in future.

Each member starts with a balance of 1,000 TazBucks. You can generate further Tazbucks through a number of means :
  • Post and share your knowledge or experiences through the forum. 50 Tazbucks are paid for each new topic created, and 25 for each reply you make to an existing topic. Note - posts in the board games forum do not earn TazBucks.
  • Defeating existing high game scores will result in the payment of a TazBucks jackpot. This payout starts at 250 and increases by 25 TazBucks each time a game is played. Note - a game must have been played a certain number of times before it will pay the jackpot. The game listing will tell you how many more scores need to be registered. You will not be paid the jackpot for defeating your own score.
  • Gamers can create tournaments for others to compete in and set an entry fee up to 5000 TazBucks to play. Winner take all in a knockout style.
The arcade is provided as a means of entertainment for contributing members of the site. It costs 50 TazBucks for each game that you play, so the more you contribute, the more you can play in the arcade.

Please note that any person who spams in order to gain TazBucks will be penalised and may find themselves bankrupt. Spam is not limited to the promotion of products and irrelevant websites, but also to posting frivolous comments and topics simply to build TazBucks. Members found posting in this manner repeatedly will first be warned and penalised should they persist.

Your current TazBucks holding is dispalyed in the top area of the main arcade page, and also in the member box to the left of your forum posts.

Advanced Members, or those who have made more than 25 forum posts are granted the capacity to play for free in the arcade.

Thanks Sim. I have also added a new way to earn TazBucks in the arcade. The first person to locate and submit scores in 25 randomly selected games will win a jackpot prize.

We are also more than happy to award people extra TazBucks for a good quality post, if they need them. For those living in Tasmania it is not too hard to write about the places they have visited, or even their local area, and contributions that inform and entice us can be considered for TazBuck payments greater than the standard automatically paid out by the system.

We want to build on our Tasmanian information, and it is not unreasonable to expect that where a person is able to gain many hours of entertainment, that they should give something back in the way of contributions.

What a great initiative! I too will look forward to seeing how this all 'plays' out.
