Day 4 Deloraine ? Ross

Woke up this morning and with it still raining and the forecast for more, we decided to head south where the forecast was fine. Our plan now is to do Cradle Mountain when we do the west coast. We left Deloraine at 9am after a substantial breakfast of bacon and eggs.

As we were leaving Deloraine it was remarkable the cloud slowly lifting to reveal a kaleidoscope of rich autumn colours cascading from the trees to form a canopy of rich beautiful colour falling all around us. Even the local ducks, in the park across the river came to met us and to happily pose for our photo shots.

We are heading back to Liffey Falls to see what we weren?t able to see yesterday evening because of the fog. I can?t help but feel that we are in for a treat. At the moment the weather is a slight drizzle with sunny patches. We are passing through Golden Valley and the weather is a lot better than last night!

Liffey Falls were a real treat with the water flowing abundantly and the rain forest was one of the best we have seen. The towering tree ferns made you feel like you were in the land of the giants. We just finished viewing the falls and it started to rain which made the walk back pretty ordinary but we saw the falls so all was ok. We are leaving Liffey Falls at 11.15am and we are heading toward Ross. Heading for Cressy, we ended up in Carrick, I guess they both start with C. had a quick look around Longford and Perth, both nice towns with their own bit of history on offer. Fuelled up at Perth, petrol was $1.59 a litre.

We are passing through a nice little town called Campbell Town (The Can Do Town). It is 1.30 and we are having a quick stop to check out some of the old churches 18544km. This town poses an interesting question. Brisbane?s Mayor is Campbell Newman whose slogan is the can do man. Who was first?

We reached Ross about 2pm and we had a late lunch in the Ross Bakery and Tea Rooms. We had beef stroganoff and it was very good. We spent the rest of the day looking through Ross. There was such a lot to see. It certainly is a beautiful historic town that is well worth looking at. We started off at the Wool Centre and then did the historic walk up to the Cemetery and back down to the Bridge.

We stayed at Ross in the Ross Motel. It is now 8pm and we are catching up on some laundry, filling in our diary, and downloading hundreds of photos. I am ready for bed but I must go get our clothes out of the dryer.

Heading towards Kettering tomorrow.

Im sitting here drooling as I read your diary. Thank you.

Have you got any shots of Liffey Falls? We haven't been there yet, but it is on our to do list.

Yes we have some photo and I will post them as soon as I get time as I will for the other days. Liffey Falls were arguably the best we saw. The track down and back was amazing.

Great shots, thanks for sharing them. Been past the turnoff for Liffey many times, but always heading elsewhere or after dark. Will have to make an effort to get over to them.
