Definitely one of the most beautiful Tasmanian native flowers is our local waratah. Curently reaching the peak of their blooming in the west. I love these flowers, and driving around the western town of Waratah at this time of year shows them off in their glory. You will find these shrubs (trees?) growing all along the roadsides in the region, esepcially when near Waratah (the town).

The shot below was taken at Rosebery Hospital a couple of days ago. I put an early version of it on Flickr and it has become very popular there with over 300 views in the first 24 hours, and making it to #28 in Flickr Explore.

This is one that I will definitely be saving my pennies to get a canvas of, as I think it would look spectacular on any wall. If anyone would like to order a canvas of this, we can arrange a 24 inch square, high quality canvas print, delivered anywhere in Australia for $280. Overseas orders can be arranged, though we will need to get a postage quote first.

Enough of the sales pitch, but I really do think this one has managed to impress even me. The below image is a low resolution version of the shot, but that does not detract from its beauty. It is also slightly more cleaned up than the version I placed on Flickr.
