Hi Everyone .. Sorry my first post is going to be a HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP post

I'm moving from sydney to latrobe in 2 and a half weeks .... and have just found out my pet blue fronted amazon isnt allowed in

It has to be put to a risk assessment board meeting .. so i was wondering if anyone could help

If you know of someone with amazon parrots or someone else i could speak to at parks and wild life ... i'd be forever grateful ...

It wouldnt be so bad if the board meeting wasnt so far away .. its not until late feb early march sad.gif

Look forward to hearing from anyone on this topic

Hi Lisa.

Sorry to hear about your predicament. The quarantine controls down here are pretty strict, and that extends to exotic birds and other creatures also. Given the Tasmanian conditions, it has to be understandable that the powers that be are so careful these days.

There may be one or two people lurking around here who can help out. Best of luck.

Hi Anna,

Thanks for replying smile.gif

i totally understand the applying etc ... guess its just a bit hard ... now that i have the pet for a short time ... without phoning and checking first ... and well going ahead with the move before knowing if all my pets could come along without a hassle ...

i have all faith that this kind of parrot will pass the board meeting ... its just leaving my bird for a month or so pulls on my heart strings ...

hopefully i can get something moving a bit faster or somethinggggg smile.gif

Hi Lisa,

Contact Parks and Wildlife Hobart on 6233 6556 and ask to speak to Mr Ross Monash.

Sorry, I am not up to speed re feathered species, however I am going through a similar process regarding reptiles.

I too have to submit paperwork for the assessment panel re importing and i know Ross is part of that panel.

Cheers
Darron

Hi Darron

Thanks so much for your reply .... I have also been speaking to Ross and got his email address on friday so i can submit some more information on the Blue-Fronted Amazon plus i'm allowed to explain that i'm only owning it as a pet etc ...

Is your reptile being assessed at the meeting in end of feb/ early march as well???

If so could we please stay in touch ... i'm so scared of them not having my parrot on the agenda .. then having to wait another 3 months for another meeting ... sad.gif
