Hi all,
As I'm going to Tasmania in a few weeks I thought I would tie it in with a university assignment. Off the top of my head it's basically looking at a biological issue and tying it in with something to do with the society. I have a friend who recently camped out at the Florentine Valley for a few days (the same time as the police raid). Is this stand-off still going on? I'm thinking this would be an interesting topic due to the felling of old trees with a heap of carbon in them.
I'm also open to any other issues in Tasmania at the moment.
Thanks.

Hi Nathan,
I'm not sure exactly what is going on with the Florentine at the moment. I'll have to look it up, or maybe someone else can give us all a bit of info.
You could also have a look for info on the Tarkine ring road that has been proposed by the Tas. Govt. last I heard the federal government was getting involved in that one. Check out this news report

Hi Nathan
Given your area of study, why not consider the Devil Facial Tumor that is rapidly taking hold of our Devil population? I'm sure there are plenty of local specialists and other concerned parties that you could consult with/meet with while you are here.
Cheers
