Just hoping that somebody might be able to confirm (or correct me) the identification of the plant in the image below. I think it is the native Tasmanian pepper, though which particular variation I am unsure of.
Certainly hope it is as I have been looking for a local source of this gorgeous, tangy pepper for a while.

It seems like it to me - you could taste a tiny bit of leaf if you are game. If it's peppery then bingo!

Thanks zoidberg. I did taste a small piece and it had quite a bite. Also smelled the same when crushed as some other dried material I have at home. This one is obviously only a small seedling, but we did find quite a few larger plants in the same area.
I should also mention, that if anyone has not tried this pepper, you have no idea what you are missing. This is one of the tastiest peppers available and is great in all kinds of cooking. Can be found commercially, and is usually sold under the name "Tasmanian Mountain Pepper" or "Tasmanian Bush Pepper".

It has an awesome flavour...heaps better than normal pepper.
