Thank you Natalie. There is one house down there that has quite an interesting garden, filled with all manner of interesting little things. The lizard and dinosaur live there :)

WEEK 44

Been out and about locally this week, enjoying the few days of sunshine that we had. Of course the rain is back for a little while now, but you get that.

Not bad for a shot taken out of a car window traveling at 100 km/h

WEEK 45

Had quite a bit of nice weather over this way during the past week, and got out with the camera almost every day. Still have not processed all of my shots for the week, so this is a small sample of what I have been shooting. Not going to post any of my snake shots from today with this lot, but you can find some of them in another thread I have created here Will add a few more shots to that collection after I make this post.

First couple are attempts at finding reflections in water drops, shot around my yard

A couple from my wander down to Nelson Falls

A couple more from the garden

And to finish up, a few from the local cemetery

Enjoyed them all, Mystic... and the second droplet reflection shot worked really well!

Although, the Dandelion head and Nelson Falls are the stars for me. :)

Thanks guys. The falls shot definitely worked, and I had been trying to find a dandelion for ages, without luck until a couple of days ago.

Thanks Shane. Sorry for the late response, but I guess you are used to that from me ROFL

WEEK 46

The rains have returned for a spell over this way, though there were a few breaks during the week. Mostly I have been experimenting with stuff, a lens I bought a few weeks back but had not got around to playing with, using two sets of extension tubes, and playing with a reverse lens mount. Thus, a sometimes strange collection for this week.

Nasturtium
_SHO8318.jpg

Next couple are among the first shots with a Sigma UC ZOOM 28-70 lens
_SHO8347.jpg

_SHO8350.jpg

This one was shot with my Sigma 90mm and two sets of extension tubes attached
_SHO8364.jpg

Next few are reverse mounted Pentax SMC M 50mm and one set of tubes
_SHO8387.jpg

_SHO8393.jpg

_SHO8397.jpg

Finally, just playing with lighting

Enjoy your week folks

Thanks Dave. The 28-70 has really surprised me, especially considering I could not find any info about the lens anywhere, and I bought it attached to a Pentax film camera for $30 including postage on Eekbay

Nasturtiums are my favourite flowers! Gorgeous shot, Mystic! :) (If you ever come across some seeds... I would be eternally grateful if you could send me some.)

And have to agree with Dave about that lens - fantastic photos! Something about that first Sigma lens shot reminds me of early Nat Geo photos.

Also, love the closeups on the daisy.

Thanks Natalie, but NatGeo is going a tad too far me thinks ROFL

Will keep my eyes open for nasturtium seeds for you. The lens is definitely a surprise. Did not bother playing with it for a while coz I had two new primes that I fell in love with and the only infor I could find anywhere about that type of lens was in relation to a different zoom, and it said the letters UC stood for "Ultra Crappy". Was only $15 for the camera & lens + another $15 postage, so I figured I would risk it. Will definitely be playing with it more.

I thought the flower was a chamomile, a bit small for a daisy. But, knowing my fantastic botanical skills it could be a variety of rose ROFL

Ah well, you are probably correct about it being a Chamomile... didn't know the size, so assumed it was a daisy. :)

Also, did you know that you can eat the leaves from the Nasturtiums? And the young seed pods make great Mock Capers when pickled.

Natalie
