enjoyed the pictures in this thread, thanks for your efforts people B)

if I can ask; for those that live in Queenstown (I'm looking at buying somewhere along the west coast), what is it that most attracts you to the town?

For me, here in Queenstown, I like the people, very friendly and always willing to help in any way. I also love the quietness, I can sit here and listen to the birds as the play around the yard. The scenery is gorgeous and we are not too far from the WHA, with it's magnificent beauty. Also not too far from the coast and the pounding Southern Ocean.

Thanks zeph. Agree with Shane on all points. Have lived now in Zeehan, Rosebery, and now Queenstown. Queenstown is possibly the friendliest of all towns and has more services available. It is also very close to a great number of places worth exploring in all directions. The people are much more relaxed and easy going than either of the other towns. I honestly did not expect to like this town, but now have fallen in love with it. After dark towns like Zeehan and Rosebery are empty and offer very little. Queenstown has a wide variety of pubs, clubs and restaurants. It all depends on the kind of lifestyle you want I guess, though if you are looking for real estate, then Queenstown probably has the widest selection, Zeehan has risen in price dramatically since a new estate agent arrived in town, though the prices do not necessarily reflect increased demand, and Rosebery is mid range, and not without controversy and possibly a divided community. If you are looking for employment Zeehan & Rosebery offer work in the mines, and virtually nowhere else, whilst Queenstown has a much broader range of options.

Best of luck
