Great set of shots Shane. That hoverfly certainly had perfect timing for you :) Love the title "a plant" ROFL your botanical skills are as good as mine :)

Certainly looks like you had a fun and interesting time out and about, Shane. :)

Love your 'King of the road' shot... taken straight down the centre line... Lol. The Hover Fly is fantastic, and the rock textures is another great shot... but the pick of the bunch for me this week is 'Frenchman's Cap, snow capped'. The snow, the wilderness, the looming storm clouds over the mountains... all combine to leave one in awe.

Thanks Natalie...yeah was an awesome week. Glad you like the shots. The Frenchmans shot was taken just as it started to rain.It certainly is a mystical spot :)

well done Shane, love the shot of lake Burbury, we stayed a few nights there in our camper, there's a low cost camp-site on the northern side, very enjoyable, your botanical skill's equal or even exceed mine!

Thanks Dave. Lake Burbury is beautiful hey? You know there are free camp sites around it? None of the others have facilities, but they are in gorgeous spots.

Are you talking about the one on the other side of the bridge, towards Queenstown? There s another one when you head out towards Mt Huxley...it also has a boat ramp.

The fee based one is on the eastern side Shane, over the bridge and towards Nelson Falls. We stopped there for lunch when your father was down. It is operated by West Coast Council, and I think the only camping area on the lake with toilets.

WEEK 38

Had a few fine days this week, but the weekend has turned chilly and wet. Mystic and I got out to the cemetery one day and I went for a few wanders around town. Nice to be out and about.
Hope you enjoy the shots and have a great week.

Nice set Shane. Love the daisy and the forget-me-nots. Very clever with that splash too :)

Enjoyed these, Shane - love the 'Colour Explosion', and the enlarged centre of the gerbra is gorgeous - great detail. 'Ksplash' is very well captured!

I am still trying to figure out why anyone in their right mind would head north from SA in summer...50 degree heat is not good for humans let alone cameras
