Great shots Shane. Well done.

Don't be scared of the wrens Shane, Posted Image it's suprising how close they will let you get with a little stealth.

I really like the early morning light on the pond, gives the impression something could come out of the water at any moment.

From the photo's Mystic and yourself post to the forum Mt Owen it has so many different faces and moods which are allways a pleasure to look at.

Guess I just love mountains and their everchanging moods.

Reminds me a lot of the female species. ROFL

Great shots Shane. Love the morning mist and light around the pond.

Thanks Cascade...I am getting closer to the little wrens every time I shoot them. The other day my first thought was...'where's my zoom' :) I only had my 18-55 on, I must stick out like one of those PINK lol. That pond is a beautiful spot, I would love to get up there a bit more often in different lighting conditions, just to see what I can capture. It was great to go for a wander before sun up and the serenity of the place was only broken by the songs of the birds when the sun did finally rise. Mt Owen has so many moods, I am lucky enough to see it every time I walk past my back door or into my kitchen, makes for doing dishes almost impossible :D

Thanks Mystic, I have to get up there again :)

Hi Shane, great set of shots - particularly love the rainbow and the reflections in the pond... although it does look like it was a chilly morning. :)

Very very nice Shane. That pond sure does look like a great spot. Must be nice to wander around somewhere like that before dawn!

Thanks Natalie. :) Would you believe that was the warmest part of that day?, the temps seemed to drop from there and the weather didn't know what it was going to do. There was rain, fog, low cloud and even a bit of sun, very strange day indeed. Glad you like the shots.

It was awesome Anthony. I reckon I do need one of those headlamps though that cavers use, so I don't trip up on the fallen branches of trees. It was great to wander before sunrise though. Not something I usually see. I see why that is one of the best times to take photos :)

Thanks Mystic :) I haven't seen too many flowers around lately...speaking of which I forgot to get shots of the dead ones in your garden hedge...will have to grab some soon before they get too withered.

Thanks Anthony, glad you like em :). It has been very nice this last week, which means I need to get the lawnmower out, The skies have been beautiful and the mornings crisp. Perfect time of year I think. The fog was amazing, I am usually right in the thick of it, I was fortunate enough to be at Mystics this morning to catch it from above.

Great photos, Shane! Love the little flowers - would love to see a macro/close up of one. Also love the colours in the Queen River shot, makes a great image - although the inner environmentalist is shuddering that any river could look like that. Enjoyed the playful swirls of clouds you've captured in the 3rd and 4th shots!

Thanks Dave...essay doesn't want to gel at the moment...will work on it though and then yeah...I'll be out shooting again :)

Thanks Natalie. The clouds that day were amazing and they changed a lot, I just had to capture some of them :) The Queen river is a bit of an eyesore but it does make for great photos.

Thanks Mystic :)...any more modern and we'd be in the future ROFL

Thanks Dave...the third one is also one of my personal faves. I haven't used those sorts of pumps, I just like the look of them now. Will have to go back and get a few more shots of them, they are very interesting.

Also love the sepia effect to the gas pumps, Shane. Although, seems there may be a small child trapped inside the left one... can just see a small face peeking out trying to get someone's attention.

WEEK 20

Well I've been going :brr: all week. There hasn't been much of a chance to get out and about due to the inclement weather. I did manage to go for a bit of a wander yesterday, between showers and snapped a few shots. Today my head has been in the books, but I also managed to get some close ups of a few things using the Beast and extension tubes, the birds just didn't want to come near me while I was outside, but as soon as I came back in they were everywhere. I think they know when I have a camera near me and they stay away :( Hope you enjoy the shots, have a great week.
