My wife and i are moving to tasmania in May/June and we were wondering from previous persons who moved what sort of price we expect to pay?, we have emailed loads of removalists but not heard back yet. We dont have much stuff to take with us(1 bedroom flat) and we are moving from Melbourne to Hobart.

You are probably far better off calling rather than emailing companies. I have often found, especially with small business operators, that although they may have email and such set up, they may not exactly be that etch savvy, and often simply forget they need to check their emails once in a while. Sad but true right across the world.
Also you would do best, as you do not have much but looking for operators who might be looking for backloading down here, so they are looking to at least put something in their trucks after moving a house load up to the mainland. Try calling up a few Tasmanian based removalists, and see what deals you can find.
Most of the people I have seen asking these kinds of questions before have been moving house loads and have usually found containers to be the best and cheapest way to go.
